Ενημέρωση από τον Δρ Αθανάσιο Παπαϊωάννου (Ινστιτούτο Αστρονομίας, Αστροφυσικής, Διαστημικών Εφαρμογών και Τηλεπισκόπησης του Εθνικού Αστεροσκοπείου Αθηνών)

This is a kind reminder regarding the upcoming SPEARHEAD School 2026, which will take place from 04–08 September 2026 in Kiel, Germany.

We would especially like to highlight that the deadline for financial support applications is 30 April 2026. Students and eligible participants who wish to request financial assistance are strongly encouraged to submit their applications before this date, as limited support is available.

The School offers hands-on training with SPEARHEAD tools and data, building on previously developed MSc-level materials. It is open to students, early-career researchers, and other interested participants, and provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience, earn 3 ECTS credits, and engage with the broader SPEARHEAD community.

The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and remote participation, and will include interactive sessions, group work, and networking opportunities.

Following the school, Workshop 3 will take place, bringing together a broader group of scientists to present and discuss the latest SPEARHEAD results and developments. The best student presentation from the School will also be presented during the Workshop.
