Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The purpose of the program is to develop the awareness of the complexity of intercultural interpretation and mediation within the migration context. Understand the philosophy, purpose and ethics involved in the intercultural dialogues and provide the tools to conduct strategic and ethical communication between professionals and beneficiaries of different cultures.
By the end of the course students will be able to:

• Understand the basic and critical characteristics of theory and practice of Cultural Mediation.
• Distinguish the contribution of the Cultural Mediation with the public and private sector, the non-profit and the third sector in migrant and refugee context.
• Understand the context of forced migration and refugee status.
• Develop the skills of interpretation and intercultural mediation in different sectors (Health, Law, etc).
• Understand the ethics involved in cultural mediation and interpretation.
• Develop the skills for crisis management and mediation in cases of difficult intercultural communications.
