Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

Στο μάθημα αυτό θα έχουμε την ευκαιρία να συζητήσουμε μια σειρά από θεματικές που αντλούνται από τα ερευνητικά μου ενδιαφέροντα των τελευταίων ετών, και τα οποία διαμεσολαβούνται μέσα από την ψηφιακη κουλτούρα (εξ ου και η συσχέτιση με την 'κοινωνία της πληροφορίας'.

συνεπώς, ελπίζω ότι θα σας βοηθήσει να εξοικειωθείτε  με μια σειρά θεμάτων που μας απασχολούν με διάφορους τρόπους στη σημερινή εποχή των διαδικτυακών τεχνολογιών, όπως για παράδειγμα: την κουλτούρα της διασημότητας,  την ριάλιτι τηλεόραση, συζητήσεις σχετικά με το παιδί, αλλά και σχετικά με την αναπαράσταση της κοινωνικής τάξης, την κουλτούρα της ανθεκτικότητας, την κουλτούρα των foodies, συζητησεις για αρρενωπότητα , αλλά και μαύρη θηλυκότητα και φεμινισμό, κ.α..

For erasmus students:

In this course, we will have the opportunity to discuss a range of topics drawn from my research interests in recent years, which are mediated through digital culture (hence the connection with "information society").

Therefore, I hope this will help you familiarize yourselves with various issues that concern us in different ways today - an era of online cultures and technologies- , such as celebrity culture, reality television, discussions on childhood, as well as the representation of social class, resilience culture, foodie culture, discussions on masculinity, Black femininity, feminism, and more.

 

 

This course is taught in greek; however, erasmus students are catered for in the section [discussions/Συζητήσεις] -(check out the menu on the left and click on Συζητήσεις)

 

Let me explain below how this works:

 

In this section [Συζητήσεις], you will find a number of thematic categories, each one of which carries 3-4 readings. Erasmus students are required to select TWO readings from each category, and, following the short description offered, submit a short 'discussion' in the designated spot on e-class.

The different categories follow the course curriculum. I will 'guide' you further on from which theme to start, and how to continue, so as to be in tune with the greek cohort.

 

Υour first assigned thematic category is 'celebrity culture'. I have requested from the greek students to work on the 'invention of celebrity 1750-1850', while i'm away on friday 7 march. Please use this chapter as the 1st of your two inputs in this category; you may choose your 2nd short discussion yourselves from the titles offered.

Discussions/Συζητήσεις are designed as mandatory for Erasmus students- you have to do them!, and they weigh 30% towards your total grade for the course.

The remaining 70% will be covered through the 'review essay' (in section Εργασίες/assignments), where you may find instructions and the cluster of reviews to choose from.
