Medical Psychology is a sub-discipline of psychology that applies psychological principles to the field of medicine. The course focuses on integrating psychological, behavioral, and biomedical knowledge relevant to health and illness. It also involves applying this knowledge to diagnose, treat, prevent, and rehabilitate clients of all ages. The theories and models related to illness and treatment are based on knowledge from clinical psychology, health psychology, and neuropsychology, and are part of the biopsychosocial model. Medical Psychology also encompasses prevention and public health, with an emphasis on promoting health through disease prevention.
