Course Objectives/Goals

By the end of the module, students will be able to understand, describe, and implement:

• Basic principles of precision medicine
• Main types of electronic health records (EHR) and modern data sources
• Medical ontologies and classification systems
• Principles of safe and secure data access, information governance
• Create and evaluate phenotyping algorithms
• Data manipulation of electronic health data using Python incl. basic quality control and transformation approaches
• Epidemiological study designs in EHR data
• Basic concepts of machine learning and AI in healthcare
