Text as Ghost
((63ΛΕ187)) - Ασημίνα Καραβαντά
Περιγραφή Μαθήματος
This course explores how literature becomes a site of haunting. Focusing on Toni Morrison’s Beloved, Joan Anim-Addo’s Imoinda,Patrick Chamoiseau’s Slave Old Man, and Caryl Phillips’ Nature of Blood, we examine how contemporary Black Atlantic and Caribbean texts return to the histories of slavery, displacement, racial violence, and collective catastrophe. These works do not treat the past as finished. Instead, they present it as something unfinished, recurring, and insistently present—as a ghost.
