(ENL651) -  Ευδοκία Καραβά (Συντονίστρια), Μπέσσυ Μητσικοπούλου, Νίκος Σηφάκις, Κοσμάς Βλάχος

Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

This course, offered in the 7th semester, is a core component of the Pedagogic and Teaching Competence Programme and is mandatory for students pursuing the Certificate of Pedagogic and Teaching Competence. It builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in two key courses from previous semesters: Applied Linguistics to Foreign Language Teaching and Learning (5th semester) and ELT Methods and Practices (6th semester). While these two courses are not prerequisites for enrolling in *Practice Teaching I*, they are required for *Practice Teaching II*.

Teaching Practicum I serves as a preparatory course for the following semester's Teaching Practice II, where students will complete a nine-week teaching practicum in actual classroom settings.

The course is conducted through seminars and workshops, organized into thematic areas that allow students to focus on aspects of TEFL that interest them most. Its primary aim is to offer practical knowledge related to teaching English in various learning environments. Through the guidance of seminar and workshop instructors, students apply contemporary educational and language teaching approaches, methods, and techniques to course and lesson planning for learners of different ages and purposes. They also gain experience in designing, adapting, and evaluating teaching materials, assessing learners' English proficiency, and enhancing the learning process using audiovisual aids and computers.
