The primary objective of this course is to enhance awareness regarding interlingual disparities and correspondences between the English and Greek languages through the application of discourse analysis to translated and/or authentic parallel texts.
The course integrates theories derived from the fields of Linguistics and Translation Studies to underscore the significance of contextual, sociocultural, and ideological elements in influencing the choices of linguistic structures and functions.
The instructional content is disseminated through lectures and interactive discussions with students, while the evaluation of student performance is contingent upon the culmination of a final examination or project, supplemented by additional oral or written assignments. Midway through the course, anonymous feedback from students is actively sought to facilitate ongoing improvement.
