Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The aim of the Workshop is to address the needs of participants who are interested in getting insights in the Teaching of English for Specific Purposes, with a focus on professional / business settings.

Workshop aims & expected benefits: The workshop provides participants with practical insights into key ESP concepts (e.g. unlearning/relearning), teaching practices appropriate for adult ESP learners as well as a hands-on experience on materials evaluation/adaptation/development

Objectives: By the end of the workshop, students will have developed insights into:

1. the notions of unlearning/relearning and lifelong learning

1. the role of the adult teacher and practical implications
2. materials evaluation/adaptation/development
3. practical application: designing activities & tasks for ESP   learners (e.g. Administration Civil   Servants, Press Officers, Digital Policy         executives etc.)

Methodology: The workshop will be carried out in line with adult learning principles: Participants will work collaboratively in order to explore key concepts, course and materials design/development as well as appropriate methodologies for adult ESP learners. In particular, participants will co-construct a reformed skills-set based on their involvement and engagement in discussion, collaborative exploration of key concepts, critical reflection and practical application of principles, processes, methodologies and criteria discussed.
