(ENL560) -  Mina Karavanta; Christina Dokou; Angelos Evangelou

Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

In the core course of our MA programme, students will develop advanced critical and theoretical strategies through a series of seminars that will be conducted by the faculty of the postgraduate programme. The aim of this course is the enhancement of the methodological skills that are required for the writing of MA research papers and of the MA thesis. While studying different literary and theoretical texts that are pertinent to the theme of this year’s programme, students will further probe into and lay emphasis on methodology. They will develop their research skills, learn how to relate their research ideas to the relevant critical debates, use the available resources, select and review the secondary sources. They will also acquire the skills to organise and deliver a good conference presentation. Students will be offered the opportunity to develop their research questions, work on their proposals, review their work and the work of their peers, and reflect on a variety of methodological approaches and problems. Students will complete various oral and written assignments. These will include a literature review, short presentations of secondary sources, a long abstract and bibliography for their final research paper, a final research paper, and a polished conference presentation, which they will be called upon to present at a final mock-conference.
