Descrizione del Corso

This course has two main aims:  a) to familiarise students with poetic elements such as metre, imagery, figures of speech, sound, symbol, myth, in order to enable them to read, analyse and appreciate poetry; b) to offer them a historical survey of British poetry from the Medieval to the Modern period and to examine the ways in which various poets have made use of the above-mentioned elements in order to express their ideas.
