Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The purpose of this course is to introduce the students to some of the best known Greek literary works from the ancient world and to provide a clear overview of ancient Greek literature. We will take the Homeric epics as our starting point and, following a chronological sequence, we will examine important intellectual and cultural trends from different periods, examining how these trends and their contexts are reflected in literature. To this effect, students will be encouraged to read, think critically about, and discuss texts from a wide selection of authors across different periods and genres.
