Course Description
Descriptive Anatomy I provides the opportunity to review in depth the anatomical areas of human body and the learning of organs and functional systems. It offers dissection, lectures in the amphitheater and in Anatomage tables or Human Body Navigators.
Specific objectives includes the anatomy of the abdomen, Digestive System, Abdominal wall and groin, Peritoneum and omentum, Petroperitoneum, Vessels (Abdominal aorta and in ……. Cava) and nerves (cranial and peripheral nerves) lymphatic system, Abdominal organs such as Esophagus, Stomach, Small intestine, Appendix , Large intestine and anorectum, Liver, Extrahepatic biliary tract and gallbladder Pancreas and Spleen. Respiratory system, Genitourinary system, Kidneys and ureters , Adrenal glands, Urinary bladder, Male and Female genital system , Breast anatomy , Heart.
Attendance
This course is comprised by both lectures and lab practicals. Regarding lectures, the attendance is mandatory for 80% of the teaching hours (only 13 absences ). The attendance in lab practicals is 100% mandatory.
Learning Outcomes
Students completing this course are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the contribution of the deceased to the education of the living and display appropriate professional behaviors, including compassion and respect for the dignity of the departed.
Examination
The course "Descriptive Anatomy I" is examined in written form by means of multiple choice.
