When a symmetry element is selected from the Elements' selection panel and displayed in the 3D Screen, the user can animate the corresponding symmetry operation either manually or automatic. Automatic animation is achieved by clicking the Perform Operation Button. Manual animation is achieved by dragging the Perform Operation Slider. During the animation the molecule’s initial geometry is displayed as a semitransparent “ghost” structure. The animation’s speed can be adjusted by the Animation Speed slider. The animation can be paused and restarted by clicking the Perform Operation Button or by clicking the Perform Operation Slider. During the animation of a symmetry operation the user can still manipulate the molecule either freely by dragging it, or by the appropriate buttons, whereas the drop menus and panels referring to molecules, point groups and symmetry elements are inactive. Pressing the Perform Operation Button
starts the animation of the motion of each atom and bond during the symmetry
operation in the 3D screen . The symmetry operation can be animated manually by dragging the
Perform Operation Slider.
The speed of the animation is controlled by the Animation Speed Slider. The animation can be aborted any time by clicking the Escape Operation Button. |
