The Sequence Stratigraphy approaches: fundamental terminology, concept of spatial and time scale. Sequence Stratigraphy vs. Lithostratigraphy.

Sequence stratigraphic surfaces: subaerial unconformity, correlative conformity, basal surface of forced regression, regressive surface of marine erosion, maximum regressive surface, maximum flooding surface, transgressive and ravinement surfaces.

Systems tracts: highstand systems tract, transgressive systems tract, lowstand systems tract.

Facies analysis: concepts of depositional systems, facies and facies associations, classification of depositional environments, Walther's Law, sedimentary Petrography, Paleocurrent directions, Pedology, Ichnology. Exploration of petroleum plays based on the Sequence Stratigraphy tool.

Well logs: geological uncertainties, well-log interpretations.

Seismic exploration: physical attributes of seismic data, workflow of seismic data analysis and interpretation.
