I have both unfortunate and fortunate news to share with you.

The unfortunate news is that I will not be able to join you for our class this Thursday due to an unexpected obligation of mine. However, the good news is that an excellent substitute will be stepping in - Professor Spyridon Tegos from the University of Crete.

The class will take place as scheduled, just without me. I’m confident you will find Professor Tegos’ lecture engaging and that you’ll enjoy the discussion that follows.

He will share the link to his Webex room with you in the coming days.

Study week I

Dear all,

This Thursday is Labour Day, so we will not be able to hold our class. However, to stay on schedule, I am designating this week as a study week. I have already updated the e-class — please check Week V. You will need to complete a short assignment and submit it by May 10.

Since some of you are currently on Erasmus exchange, and therefore need to receive your grades before the exam period ends, I have decided to assess your work through four short assignments over the semester, rather than one final assignment. Each assignment will correspond to a study week. Following this first study week, I will soon create three more.

Your assignments will be graded shortly after submission, and your final grade will be available before the end of the semester. I hope this arrangement works well for all of you!

Invited lecturer at our next class

Dear all,

In our upcoming class, we will have the privilege of attending an invited lecture by Dr. Stavros Kirimis, a seasoned diplomat and an expert in the ethics of international relations and diplomacy. Dr. Kirimis will explore the ethical dimensions of international relations through the lens of justice between equals and unequals, as exemplified in the Athenian-Melian dialogue recorded by Thucydides in his Histories. Looking forward to meeting you all on Thursday.
