During the June exam period the course will be examined only through the submission of a written essay. During the September exam period the course will be examined through a traditional two-hour sitting exam.
The essay title for the 2017-2018 academic year is:
Discuss in detail how a system of 'checks and balances' was built into the US Constitution.
Writing the essay is obligatory only for those students who wish to be examined during the June exam period.
Greek students are expected to write the essay in Greek. Essays written in English by Greek students will not be accepted.
The essay should include footnotes and bibliography and should be 1,500 words long (excluding footnotes and bibliography). At least six bibliographical sources should be used of which only one can be of encyclopeadic nature, such as wikipedia. The bibliographical sources should be clearly refered to in the footnotes section at the bottom of each page.
Students are expected to deliver their essays directly to Prof. Athanassopoulou or to the Secretary of the International and European Studies Department a week BEFORE the date of the last lecture of the course. Essays that are not delivered on time or are placed in the mail-box of the instructor will not be accepted.
Το θέμα της εργασίας του μαθήματος για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2017-2018 με την οποία θα εξεταστεί το μάθημα στην εξεταστική περίοδο Ιουνίου (κατά την εξεταστική του Σεπτεμβρίου το μάθημα θα εξεταστεί με γραπτή εξέταση) είναι:

H εργασία πρέπει να έχει παραπομπές και βιβλιογραφία. Η έκτασή της πρέπει να είναι 1,500 λέξεις (μη συμπεριλαμβανομένων των υποσημειώσεων και της βιβλιογραφίας). Τουλάχιστον έξι πηγές πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθούν για της συγγραφή της εργασίας (με ξεκάθαρη αναφορά σε αυτές στις υποσημειώσεις στο τέλος κάθε σελίδας), και από αυτές μόνο μια μπορεί να είναι εγκυκλοπαιδικού τύπου, π.χ. βικιπαίδεια.
Η εργασία πρέπει να παραδοθεί στην κα. Αθανασοπούλου ή στη γραμματεία του τομέα Διεθνών και Ευρωπαϊκών Σπουδών μέχρι και την Πέμπτη ΠΡΙΝ από την τελευταία εβδομάδα διδασκαλίας του μαθήματος. Εργασίες που θα τοποθετηθούν στη θυρίδα της κας. Αθανασοπούλου δεν θα γίνουν δεκτές.
